Post : Hello. I have been a Producers fan since the early 80's. I watched many of their concerts in cities from Mobile, AL to Tallahassee FL. I went to the Carrollton GA. show this past May, 2 weeks later I saw the show in my hometown of Pensacola, FL and watched them in New Orleans in July. I am going to the show in Atlanta, GA in Oct. Hope to see everyone there.

Post : Shawn, The Producers are also my favorite band of the 80's. I went to Six Flags over Georgia, I believe in 82' to see Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and as I was walking to the show lo and behold this side band was playing, so I stopped to listen, and they were Great, I looked behind them to see their sign saying 'The Producers' and that was my introduction to them. I've been hooked ever since. I have been looking for their web site for about a year since I have been online. I finally did and found your link. Thanks for having it up, keep up your tribute to a Great band, and please E-mail me if you catch a gig in Atlanta Ga. I wanna be there too...... I have almost all of their songs they ever recorded on my Winmx/Napster files, and listen to them often. Oh' the memories, I love the 80's music, a remarkable time in music don't you think? Thanks again for this site.

You got a concert with an EXCELLENT band and a cruise up and down the Mississippi River. Have all three albums an am about to burn them to CD (my vinyl is almost worn out). Thanks for the Real Player video.

Post : Hey Shawn, I was and am a huge Producers fan. I was in a band during the early to mid 80s that played both original and cover tunes. The Producers were a big part of our sound. What a band! For the last 10 years I’ve been checking the “p” section in every record store just in case they released their albums on CD. What a shock when I discovered the disc a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, do you know of anyone who has copies of the band’s other videos? I remember seeing them once or twice on MTV, but it was the days before widespread home video. Sure would love a copy of them live.

It was the same building used for the movie Xanadu. I love 'the Producers'. I have cassettes of all 3 albums and an LP of 'you make the Heat' I've recorded and cleaned up the tracks, and made my own CD's. I figured if I don't record them now, I'll be pretty sad when my cassettes give out! Great Site! -Sandman

Post : Thanks for the great site! Its funny, I had a Producers song pop in my head yesterday (here's to you from the debut album) and I haven't heard them is such a long time, so I did some internet searches and found your site. What memories! I was a senior in high school in '81 when I first saw The Producers on MTV doing 'Certain Kinda Girl' and just loved those guys! I later saw them perform at a bar in Philadelphia. The albums I had are long gone (worn out from playing so much), and I would love to have the debut album and You Make the Heat on CD. Oh well. I sent a request to Sony, and hopefully I can get the CD's some day. Thanks again pal!

Post : Great site, Shawn. It's funny, I'm in a band and a couple of weeks ago one of the guys says 'remember the Producers'? and the drummer says, 'yeah, i love 'em' and pulls out a cassette of the first album. Then I say 'I went to Emory (in Atlanta) from '81-'83 and you couldn't go anywhere without hearing 'She Sheila,' 'I Love Lucy,' 'What's He Got', etc. and that I had seen them many times around the Atlanta area. I was surprised that they knew and appreciated the Producers and they were surprised I knew them at all (and I've known these guys quite a while). One question, I seem to remember them playing on campus (maybe more than once), but it might just be my failing memory. Would you know if they played the Emory campus in those years (or where I could find a list of venues where they performed)? I'd appreciate it. Thanks for the memories and keep up the good work.

Post : hey, i found your web site and was shocked to find someone else loved the producers music as much as I did. i saw them back in college in the 80s at a small club in tallahassee, florida. the same town where Creed comes from. my band box of stuff was playing at the same time. when we saw the producers they were like gods to us. they were as close to the beatles as any band i had seen. a great live show, great tunes and tons of girls at the show. after the show i went and talked to kyle the bass player and told him how great i thought they were. band members usually hate this becuz they don't really care what people think or they're tired or they've hear it thousands of times, but he was really cool. we told him we were playing in town and he said he would try to check it out. anyway we moved to LA after my band got enough money to make the move and I was shopping for a motorcycle in Van Nuys, Calif and who the hell do you think came out to sell me a bike? Kyle Henderson. he said he quit the band when he found Jesus. i think he still is very religious. that was a shock. i always tried to write songs as good as the producers and use them as a model for great songwriting. you can hear some of our music at www.mp3.com/boxofstuff. we have a new CD out right now, you can get at www.cdbaby.com anway, enough commercials.\ thanks for the cool website. i wish the producers would make a new album right now. all the best, andy

Post : Shawn - Picked up your site from the links page on producers.org...very nice! I saw them back in 1981-2 at a dance club called The Graduate in central California - small venue and I was front and center (and dancing as I recall). One of the best shows in my illustrious concert career...most fun and energetic too! What a bunch of hams on stage...and talented as well. I've got all the LPs and CDs, Coelecanth rocks!! The reissue of the first 2 LPs on CD was somewhat dissapointing though, because of the poor recording quality - fuzzy high end (anybody else think so?). I could've made a better recording by dubbing my LPs to disc. Regardless, I am and have always been a true believer. If they'd come out to tour in the SF bay area of California, I'd be first in line! Thanks for an enjoyable site...I'll check back from time to time!

Post : Hello everyone, my name is of course Daniel A. Henderson. I am a proud son of Kyle Henderson. My birthdate is 5/28/1987, and I every once in a while post messages according or pertaining to my dad's career. At this point my father has suffered severe losses both in family and in career. Divorce and a huge job loss in the time of six months. When a divorce occurs after 20 years of marriage, it's serious. And when a well paying job suffers stock losses and has to lay off all business workers that have jobs other than buying and selling stocks and finances etc. Things tend to go wrong. My father created websites for the company, worked freelance, and published or edited books for them. I'm sure you all know how the business life works. After being laid off, he still got common offers for freelance and projects from this company cnl. On top of being offered various jobs back to cnl! Now I would say that is something to be proud of, and to have a smile for. It shows how his hard work looks. Years past these events, he now has a job in commercial acting, companioned by a fiance, and takes constant offers to play with the producers and a few other bands all around the country. Other jobs he does independently and he's now starting his own business which you all will soon know about. Unfortanetly now this means he doesn't have as much time with us kids ( me,15 teddy,13 grace,10 ) as much as he used to before all this took place. But Teddy and I are understanding and willing to wait to have a great family again until our father has got back up on his feet. He still sees us, believe me he doesnt just refuse to see us, he loves and cares for us to the greatest extent. The amount with each parent is usually now about 40% on dads side and 60% on moms. Which he would be proud to here me say that. Anyway,,,,,, I have done a huge part in helping my dad recieve money. Here is the story.... My dad has

I got in with a group of guys who listened to groups like the tubes, the police, the producers,Howard Jones,etc..One day my friend put in The Producers..RFYL tape in his parents 1979 pontiac grand prix. I was hooked...it was a time of sooo many influences that you had no idea were shaping your young mind...new friends, new music, the whole world seemed to be in Princeton, Illinois...being from a small town you have this safety net...we were so hip,but also sooo green and very innocent to the real world....anyway...after all these years I sit here typing this as i'm listening to my all time favorite producers cd, run for your life. All my teenage cool memories are flashing before me...I can see a music video montage in my head....Thanks Shawn for a cool site, and thank all of you who posted notes here...reading them has been really cool.....in Princeton where I grew up the producers seemed sooo far away from the rest of the world and to see all of you recalling your memories puts it all in persective and gives me a humbling feeling now at age 36. Where does all the years go? I feel 18 again...Thanks Shawn for your kindness...your gift is the best Chrsitmas present I've had in years....:) Jon Miller Romeoville, Illinois

Post : I first became aware of this great band, The Producers, about late 1981. a friend of a band I played in, brought their 1st album to our practice session. we listened, & loved it! we learned 'Certain Kinda Girl' & 'What She Does to Me.' I think I saw them play 10 times. a few times here in San Antonio & Austin, once in Victoria, Tx, which was in Aug.1984 & was Kyle's last tour with them. we did an article about them in a local music newspaper, so we got to go backstage after the show & interview the guys. it was awesome! we talked about how they didn't receive the popularity they should have. I dubbed them as 'The greatest pop band that never was!' they should've had a few top 10 hits! San Antonio loved them! all our friends went to see them whenever they came to play here. I saw them play twice with Tim Smith on bass. I have the 1st album, You Make the Heat, Run for your Life, & Coelacanth, which I bought a little over a year ago. it's good, too! I'm not really sure why they never quite made the big time!? it's always been puzzling to me! Van, Wayne, Kyle & Bryan, if you guys ever play here in San Antonio again, please let me know. I'd love to re-live those wonderful memories of seeing you guys play 20 years later. you've always been my second favorite band, behind only The Beatles! Peace always!

Post : It's really a shame that with the thousands of fans who still love their music some 25 years down the road that they weren't one of the most-popular selling bands of the 80's. I remember thinking they could be as big the Beatles when they came out as every song was tight and catchy; no B-sides. There are a lot of bands that went down this road and hit a dead end; many of them didn't even get as far as these guys did, but they surely deserved way, way more than they got. I'll never forget those early shows, the music, the videos and such. Also, you don't have to pay $100+ for their CD's on eBay --- there are plenty of people who are sharing their Producers music on P2P sites and you can buy the vinyl for $5 pretty easily and make your own CD for a lot less than $100. I wouldn't even mind paying that if I knew the money was going to the band, which it isn't --- did it ever?!? ;-) I've found some of their videos on YouTube also.

I got to see them live at a night club where I worked in Tallahassee. It was the summer of 1985 when they had a new album released -- must have been Run for Your Life. They were filming for a music video, but I don't think it ever came out. We got to hang out with the band after the show and have a few drinks. I have an autographed LP someplace. They were HUGE here and they are very fondly remembered by anyone in their late 30's to mid 40's. I used to own their first two LP's but lost them in a fire at the record store where I used to work in the late eighties. I knew about the 3rd album but i never actually got to see it here and i was blown away upon learning about the 4th album being released on CD. By the way, I am one of the lucky few who has an original copy of One Way Records release of producers/you make the heat CD. And if you happen to know when they are releasing the run for your life CD, please let me know. Thanks for the memories.
